Charles McGaha
The Man with StrengthCharles McGaha was born in Cosby, Tennessee. He enlisted into the army in Knoxville in 1937. While McGaha was on duty in the Philippines, him and his fellow troops came under vigorous machine gun fire that seriously injured his leader. McGaha took over, he helped several wounded troops, and intentionally attracted enemy fire as a diversion to allow other members of his platoon to escape to safety. He survived the battle and didn't pass away until he was 70(WBIR). McGaha received the Medal of Honor from Harry Truman in 1946.
