Charles Coolidge
The Man with BraveryHe was born in SIgnal Mountain, TN, and later enlisted into the army there in 1942. In October of 1944, his group was on hill in France known as "hill 623". His commander was wounded here, so Coolidge took command. When he was in command, he led an firm resistance to the German forces. He was the last man to hold a position as his fellow troops went to safety. He is the only WWII East TN Medal of Honor recipient still alive today. His actions took true bravery and persistence.
